Terms of Service
Yes, every respectable place has rules you have to follow. By becoming a Slideroll™ member you agree first and foremost to have fun! Now for the necessary legal statements...
Acceptable Content Guidelines
Slideroll™ is a service that allows you to publish customized and personal content to the general public. You must acknowledge this and make certain that the content you publish publicly is decent and does not promote hate towards anyone, is not lewd or pornographic, or does not break any national or international laws.
Slideroll™ is meant for a general audience. Do not use any profane language or post any suggestive or inappropriate material to the public. If you wish to post something and you are not sure that, if it were a movie, it would be "Rated G", then you must mark it as private, and only e-mail it to those you believe can handle it. We are not responsible for the views expressed in your slide shows.
POSTING PORNOGRAPHIC, LIBELOUS, SLANDEROUS, HATEFUL, PROFANE, THREATENING, OR VULGAR MATERIAL TO THIS WEBSITE IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED. Your IP address and domain are logged and we reserve the right to take proper action to preserve the quality of content on our site. This could include punitive or legal action.
Slideroll™.com is not responsible for the content that you publish. Slideroll™.com is not a producer of content. The content that you create is your responsibility and it belongs to you. You retain copyright to all photographic material you upload to Slideroll™. By publishing content to Slideroll™, you are giving us permission to publish the slide show to our site, unless you mark it private.
You may only upload content of which you are the copyright holder. Uploading photos copyrighted by someone other than yourself is illegal and will not be tolerated.
Limitation of Liability
Slideroll™ will do everything it can to make the use of this system a pleasant one. However, it must always remain true that you expressly understand and agree that under no circumstances shall Slideroll™ be liable to any user on account of that user's use of or reliance on this service. Such limitation of liability shall apply to prevent recovery of direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, and punitive damages. Such limitation of liability shall apply whether the damages arise from use or misuse of and reliance on this service, from inability to use the service, or from the interruption, suspension, or termination of the service.
Slideroll™ will do everything it can to make sure that the integrity of your data on Slideroll™ remains intact. However, Slideroll™ cannot be held liable for any loss of data.
Service Scope and Usage
Slideroll's servers do not have unlimited bandwidth. Bandwidth limitations apply for all users. If any user uses an excessive amount of bandwidth in any given time period, it will be recommended that the user download their slideshow and host it on their own server. Users may not post slideshows hosted on Slideroll's servers in such a fashion that the same slideshow is repeated multiple times on the same page, nor needlessly repeated on many pages of a site. This includes bulletin-board sig-files and sites' global navigation. This causes repeated, redundant, and sometimes concurrent downloads from Slideroll's servers, and quickly uses up bandwidth.
If a user uses the system in such a way to adversely effect the performance or efficient operation of the site, Slideroll™ reserves the right to terminate the user's account. Users must not attempt to circumvent the security and privacy systems in place, or attempt to hack the system.
Subscription users will, upon start and termination of their subscription, acknowledge that they understand and will abide by the Paypal rules for automated subscription payments.
Slideroll™ reserves the right to terminate service to you if you do not meet these terms. You will be refunded for any unused payments. Slideroll™ will also cooperate with authorities through its respective service providers.
Slideroll™ cannot be held responsible for limitations placed on the system by its service providers.
